Welcome to Sytegeist! I’m so glad you’re here.

This little business of mine was built with heart, hustle, and a deep belief that your website should reflect the real spirit behind your work. Here's a little bit about me and how Sytegeist came to be.

Hey, I’m Lyne (sounds like “Lin” but spelled weird, I know). I’m a web designer, mom, and lifelong fan of clean layouts and clever copy. I live in eastern Pennsylvania with my husband, our spirited toddler, two cats, and a tortoise. I run Sytegeist during nap time and late-night creative bursts, balancing motherhood with building something meaningful for other small business owners.

I earned my B.S. in Organizational and Professional Communications at Penn State (WE ARE!), and I’ve loved digital creativity and web design ever since high school desktop publishing class. One of the biggest stepping stones into this field came during my time at T-Mobile, where I worked in the Fraud Management department. I built functional, visually polished internal webpages using SharePoint to support the entire team nationwide. It was one of the first times I realized how much I love blending thoughtful design with real-world usability.

Later, while working as a virtual assistant, I had the chance to rebuild a friend’s websites from the ground up. He loved them. I loved the process. And from that moment, I knew I wanted to keep helping people shape their vision online.

The name Sytegeist is a nod to zeitgeist, the German word for “spirit of the times.” I was born in Germany, and the idea of capturing the spirit or vibe of a project resonates deeply with me. To me, sytegeist means the spirit of the site. Your site. I believe every business has its own energy, and your website should reflect that. And I especially, believe that even small businesses can have Big Web Energy!

My design philosophy is:

Function first, then face.

Solid structure, clear messaging, and intuitive flow, followed by thoughtful, modern aesthetics. I especially love working with other small business owners (bonus points if you’re a parent too!) who just need someone to help them make it all make sense while looking amazing.

I’m always learning new things. I take courses and I’m currently working toward a Webflow certification. Webflow gives you designer level control without needing to write entire pages of code, and it's quickly becoming the go-to platform for modern, flexible websites. I’m excited to bring that power to future projects!

Sytegeist is my creative outlet, my calling, and my way of building a future for my little family, all while helping others grow theirs.
